Ginger Glass Glitter 6×14 10 Ply Maple Snare

Cunningham Drums 6x14" Ginger Glass Glitter
Here is the latest (“Model #2″) Cunningham Drums Snare. 6×14 10 ply maple shell with 10 3.5″ brass tube lugs. Thicker shell gives more volume and the extra depth gives broader drum tone. The Ginger Glass Glitter wrap looks great under the lights! Looking forward to getting some sound check video posted soon.

Cunningham Drums 5.5x14" 5 Ply Maple Snare
Here is the first Cunningham Drums snare drum!

5.5×14, 5 ply maple shell with 5 ply reinforcement rings, black glass sparkle wrap, custom grey seal coat interior, 10 chrome plated brass tube lugs, and the original Cunningham Coat of Arms Brooklyn New York Gold Badge.

The 10 lugs and 5.5″ depth provide warm, controlled sound while the 5 ply maple shell gives nice wood overtones and great projection.

Customized Ludwig Acrolite Snare

I customized this Ludwig Acrolite aluminum shell 5×14 black galaxy finish snare drum by adding black chrome tube lugs, rims, tension rods, butt plate and a hand painted P85 strainer.  A Remo Corey Miller Tattoo Skyn batter head gave it some more attitude and a snare side ambassador and Puresound wires helped give it some crack.  I did this as a fun way to trick out a lower end drum and ended up pleasantly surprised by the attack and overall sound.  Meet “The Attackrolite!”

Ludwig 1969 Maple Snare Project Notes & Sound Check

Here’s a video with notes about this snare and the work I did to get it back to good playing condition. The drum looks and sounds great! Really happy with how it came out.

Ludwig 1969 Maple Snare Project Slideshow

I bought this snare used several years ago. It was in decent but not great shape. This Flickr set has pics and descriptions of what I did to customize and restore it to good playing condition. Also check out video at youtube.com/cunninghamdrums.

Gretsch 10″ Blackhawk Snare Sound Check

I saw this 5×10″ Gretsch Steel Shell snare on eBay and thought it would be fun to check out. I’ve never really gotten into smaller snares or even piccolos but this was a pleasant surprise. After cleaning it up and changing the heads, it looks and sound great. Loud and bright with a lot of attack. A lot of sound from a cool little inexpensive drum.
