Scott E. Cunningham
Hi-
Welcome to the Cunningham Drums website! I’ve been a drummer since I was old enough to hold sticks and jam with my guitar playing Dad. I used to bang on my Grandfather’s 1936 Ludwig Pioneer snare, then started playing my Uncle’s Slingerland kit as soon as soon as I could reach the kick pedal. My parents got me a used Gretsch round badge set when I was about six and I haven’t stopped playing since.
I was fortunate to be around good influences, good music, and good drums at a young age which gave me a lifelong respect and curiosity for the instrument. I started taking apart that Gretsch kit when I was a teenager eager to learn about drum parts and construction. I still have those drums and I also still have the curiosity.
With a BA degree in Music & Sound Recording, and a MA degree in Music Business, I’ve worked in digital media at record labels and entertainment companies, as an audio engineer and music producer, a retail drum salesman, and as a professional drummer. I still play regularly and I’m now enjoying digging deeper into my curiosity about the instrument itself.
On this site I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned and the work I’m doing with drums. Please feel free to comment on the posts or contact me directly at scott@cunninghamdrums.com with thoughts or questions.
Thanks for checking out Cunningham Drums!
